Mackay Steelwork & Cladding Ltd takes the Health & Safety of its clients, employees and the public very seriously.
It is of paramount importance to all at Mackay Steelwork and Cladding that our clients know that in choosing us they are choosing a safe contractor. To this end, we dedicate a significant amount of resources to ensuring that all reasonable precautions and steps have been taken to minimise the chance of an accident occurring.
Our method statements are working documents provided to site teams. They contain a step by step system of instructions for safely completing the works. These documents are provided to the client to demonstrate the measures in place to safeguard the health and safety performance of the project.
The law requires that organisations make a “suitable and sufficient” assessment of the risks to health and safety which are posed by its operation. Mackay Steelwork and Cladding are committed to this process through our health and safety management system, to ensure that we continually work to minimise the risks to all who could be affected by our work.
A major source of risk in the steel erection industry is the use of lifting plant and equipment and the movement of suspended loads. The law requires that lifting operations be planned and supervised by competent people. To this end, Mackay Steelwork and Cladding insist on high quality training of all staff and contractors to ensure these requirements are met and thus the risks are effectively managed.
